🤔 So... why learn from me?

In 2015, I moved from Canada to Silicon Valley as a new graduate without a job, any work experience, or a work visa. I hustled hard to find my first job, attending every networking session, asking everyone I met for introductions, and applying cold to hundreds of jobs. In 5 weeks, I landed my first job which came from an initial cold email.

Unfortunately, I didn't know how to evaluate companies before I joined them and the startup went bankrupt in 4 months. I got my second job a few weeks later through a connection with my ex-boss. As my luck would have it, the CEO from that second company got fired by the board and I was jobless again within 5 weeks.

Starting my third job hunt within 8 months of graduation was hard. To most companies, 3-4 months of work experience was the same as no work experience and I face rejection after rejection through each job search period. For my third job, I joined Wish, the most downloaded shopping app in the world at that time, and quickly got promoted to Manager. 2 years later, I was getting offers at 3x my starting salary at companies like Google and Facebook. I was also interviewing and hiring for my own team, seeing the job search process from the other side.

My story just goes to show that although breaking into the industry is hard, we all have value to contribute to a high-growth tech startup and can succeed by working hard and learning fast. Read my full story here

Because I had the blessing of job hunting three times in Silicon Valley as a new grad and networking/interviewing with hundreds of companies...

I naturally got into career coaching when an article I wrote on job search went viral. People started reaching out and asking for help.

I became a career coach for some time, coaching 1:1 and running live courses. The course I ran had 5 modules, 15 video lessons with worksheets, and has helped dozens of non-technical people land business/design/operations jobs in tech for $497.

Since I don't have the time to run live courses anymore, I am turning my course into a self-study e-book guide at a price point that's accessible to anyone.
